How to Prepare Bittergourd Tea

You can use dried bittergourd leaves, dehydrated fresh bittergourd, or commercially available tea bags. Fresh bittergourd can also be used, as its seeds contain beneficial compounds.

Ingredients:

  • 6–8 tablespoons of dried bittergourd or leaves, or 2 cups of chopped fresh bittergourd
  • 16 oz (0.5 L) of clean drinking water

Method:

  1. Wash and chop the bittergourd or leaves.
  2. Boil water in a stainless-steel pot and add the bittergourd.
  3. Reduce heat to low or medium, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  4. Turn off the heat and let the tea steep for another 10 minutes.
  5. Strain the tea into a flask or cup and sip warm throughout the day.
