Headaches and migraines can be triggered by many factors, including dehydration, poor nutrition, and skipped meals. Most people reach for an aspirin and wait for relief. However, regular use of aspirin carries risks, including stomach irritation, gastrointestinal issues, and, in rare cases, serious complications.

A natural alternative is Concord grape juice, which can provide effective headache relief without side effects.

Why Concord Grapes Help With Headaches

Concord grapes are rich in vitamin B2 (riboflavin), which supports liver function. Many migraines are linked to abnormal liver function, which can be improved with increased vitamin B2 intake. Grapes are also high in vitamin C and iron, both important for optimal liver health.

For headaches caused by sinus congestion, poor nutrition, or dehydration, a glass of grape juice can help rehydrate the body and improve blood circulation. Regular consumption may even reduce the frequency of headaches.

Homemade Concord Grape Juice Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 26 pounds of Concord grapes
  • 1 cup of water

Equipment:

  • Large and small saucepans
  • Water bath canner
  • 7 quart-size mason jars with lids and bands
  • Jar lifter
  • Potato masher
  • Canning ladle and funnel
  • Cheesecloth

Instructions:

  1. Wash the grapes and remove the stems. Combine grapes and water in a large saucepan and simmer over low heat until the skins soften. Mash the grapes with a potato masher while simmering for 15 minutes.
  2. Strain the mashed grapes through cheesecloth and discard the skins. Place the juice in a container in the fridge for 48 hours to allow sediment to settle.
  3. Sterilize your jars by boiling them for 10 minutes. Warm the lids on low heat.
  4. Carefully pour the chilled grape juice through a strainer into a large saucepan. Bring to a boil and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Fill the warm jars with juice, leaving about ΒΌ inch of space at the top. Place the lids on, screw on the bands, and submerge the jars in boiling water in the canner for 5 minutes. Remove the jars and let them cool on a towel for 12 hours.
  6. Check that each jar is properly sealed. Store the grape juice in the fridge and consume within a few days.

This homemade grape juice is preservative-free, 100% natural, and a cost-effective way to support headache relief. Whenever you feel a headache coming on, enjoy a glass of this nutrient-packed juice to help stop it in its tracks.
